Metabolic Cages

ZIRP offers Metabolic Cages for the separate collection of urine and feces and measurement of food and water intake in mice and rats.

The metabolic cages for mice are placed in a warmed and humidified climate cabinet, since a thermoneutral environment improves mouse welfare and thus reduces stress-related artefacts during sample collection and improves data quality and value. Villiger et al. Lab Animal 2025 (PDF, 2 MB)
