The imaging platform is now connected to the internet and all users have to log in individually - If you already registered at the ZMB you should possess the relevant username and password, if not, please register by using the ZMB registration form: ZMB registration

Please use drive H of the ZMB server to store your data and retrieve your data stored locally:

The IVIS Spectrum and the Quantum micro CT can be booked via the shared equipment reservation system (anaesthesia can be added as an accessory during the reservation process).

Imaging will be charged on an hourly basis and billing will start August, 1st. The fees can be found on the ZIRP price list: Fees ZIRP

Please contact us as soon as possible if you plan experiments needing support (e.g. metabolic cages, blood gas analyses) during this periods so that everything can be organised to mutual satisfaction before!

ZIRP Imaging Platform started operations
In co-operation with the Center for Microscopy and Image Analysis (ZMB) ZIRP now offers a platform for in vivo imaging, equipped with an optical imaging system and a micro CT: The IVIS Spectrum allows high-sensitivity fluorescence and bioluminescence imaging for non-invasive longitudinal monitoring of disease progression, cell trafficking and gene expression patterns in living animals. The Quantum Fx micro CT enables either high speed low dose imaging of small animals with a high throughput workflow or scans at higher resolutions. For accurate anatomical information optical and micro CT data can be co-registered. Search the ZIRP website or contact us for more information!

ZIRP expands Laboratory Platform
ZIRP further expands its laboratory platform in order to provide a multitude of analyses in different biological fluids: The blood gas analyser has been further upgraded to analyse 21 parameters (blood gases, electrolytes, glucose and lactate) out of one single sample. A high throughput automated laboratory analyser for biochemical profiling starts working soon – it will cover most of the usual biological tests for different organs/systems, using identical tests as performed in the clinical laboratory. Find out more on the ZIRP-website!

Animal Housing has been re-organized
Individually ventilated cage (IVC) systems both for mice and rat housing have been introduced allowing to increase housing capacity to 40 type 2000 rat cages and 160 type XJ mouse cages. The capacity for mouse housing will further increase in April 2012 with the installation of an additional 160 cages IVC unit. The installation of IVC systems was coupled to complete disinfection of the animal housing rooms in combination with the introduction of new hygienic rules and a mouse sentinel program. Please follow the hygienic rules posted on the doors of the animal housing rooms!
